Nearly everyone agrees that was the worst season of the entire show but it was the one that actually got me hooked.

How do you even address a franchise as massive as 'Pokémon'? The weirdest thing about this show is that I actually first started watching it during Season 4 or Johto League Champions. The voice acting is okay but nothing more. Pikacchu especially is very cute, but Ash and his friends are bland and Team Rocket are starting to become incredibly annoying. And maybe it is just me, but the Pokemon characters are more likable than the human characters. Actually most of them are lame and extremely predictable, and the dialogue ranges from adequate to cringe worthy. When I first watched, I loved the concept, it was fresh and it was original, but I wish I can say the same for the story lines that are anything but fresh and original. However, like the animation, as the show got older, the incidental music has become generic and predictably placed. One thing I still like now is the theme song, it has a great simple melody with meaningful lyrics. There are some episodes where it is awful even. At first the animation style was ethereal and mystical like, with some magical images, but as the show got older, it started meandering and lost its vibrancy and style. After seeing a fair amount of episodes after 5 years starting this endeavour this January, at first it was fresh and original with a great concept. But now that we are older, both of us have grown out of it and 5 years ago I started to really not like it. My brother used to love Pokemon, and I liked the show when it started.
